Pricing questions

Extra messages are optional. An owner must enable them and set a monthly budget. Free never incurs overage.

How do extra messages and budgets work?

Paid message overage costs $1 per 1,000 messages, proportional at $0.001 per message. It is off until an owner opts in and sets a monthly budget for extra messages.

Your plan price is separate from this budget. For a full unchanged month, the before-tax maximum is the plan price plus your budget. Reducing or disabling the budget does not undo usage or charges already incurred under an earlier setting.

Overage is rounded once per invoice line to cents, with half-cent ties rounded up. Rounded monthly overage below the configured collection minimum (initially $1) is waived, not increased or carried forward.

What happens when I reach a limit?

At your message allowance or budget limit, receiving new mail pauses unless eligible overage is enabled. Stored mail stays available until its normal expiry. Senders may stop retrying, so paused delivery can mean lost mail.

Full storage also pauses new mail without deleting existing mail early. At the download limit, body and attachment downloads pause; metadata, codes and links stay available. Receiving continues if other limits allow it.

Message overage does not increase storage or download limits, and neither has automatic extra charges. When organisation accounting is enabled, the console warns at 80% and 100% of message, storage, download and budget limits. Large emails can fill storage before you reach your message allowance. More capacity requires an explicit offer.

What counts as a message?

One stored delivery to one inbox counts as one message, whether received inbound or through Capture SMTP. Delivery to two inboxes counts twice; recognized duplicates in the same inbox do not count again.

Unread or deleted mail still counts. Refused deliveries and empty or timed-out waits do not.

How are storage and downloads measured?

Storage includes raw email, extracted bodies and attachments. Shared objects count once per owner. Downloads count bytes actually served, including repeated retrieval.

MiB means 1,048,576 bytes; GiB means 1,073,741,824 bytes. See each plan’s message and storage limits above.

Can I change or cancel my plan?

Billing follows UTC calendar months. Initial fees and included messages are prorated; upgrades apply after successful payment. Zero or below-minimum initial and upgrade prorations wait until the next month and still require payment. Downgrades and cancellations take effect at period end.

Failed renewals have seven days of grace before new mail pauses. Existing mail keeps its normal expiry. Unpaid overage blocks further extra messages, but does not block an otherwise paid plan’s included messages.

Are there other fees or billing options?

There are no separate per-inbox, project, agent, person, API-call, wait-duration or deterministic extraction fees. Service and resource limits still apply.

Billing is monthly, with no annual billing, activation-trial allowance, automatic plan upgrades or allowance rollover. Custom-domain limits count receiving domains. People allowances include owners; pending invitations reserve a place for seven days.

How does the calculator estimate my cost?

It compares message costs for a full month on an unchanged plan and chooses the lowest estimate. Selecting a custom domain excludes plans without one.

This is an illustration, not an invoice quote or usage forecast. Initial periods and upgrades are prorated. The estimate uses the default $1 collection minimum; the deployed setting may differ.

Any extra messages require owner opt-in and a budget, even when their charge is waived. The required budget covers usage before rounding. Storage, downloads, domains and throughput must also fit your plan; an estimate does not guarantee capacity.
